Where is that website screenshot with their EIN number coming from? Morningstar's website only has "all donations are tax-exempt" in that space, the EIN isn't listed. In fact, I can't seem to find their EIN anywhere which is...odd.
I have worked for nonprofits/churches. I believe the EIN number is required to be on those statements for tax-exempt donations, as well personal income tax returns for any deduction.
Also, this may be relevant. Churches are not subject to Form 990 filing requirements, so their financial records aren't a public requirement. Additionally, churches can provide housing allowances for ministers via board approval. I'm not current on all of the regs, but this can include rent, utilities, etc., and allowances are not subject to income tax.
For some reason, Daystar as an example is organized as a 501(c)3 (a church) so board members are permitted housing allowances and the organization doesn't have to file form 990.
I got it from the main page, lower left hand corner. If they pulled it then they in damage control. So I would suggest the way back machine, Rick has no control over historical images
Oh you're right, wayback snapshot has it like you said. Interesting. I think Morningstar's actual EIN number is 56-1595813 so it is weird that they had the Shumen one on the website.
