Well, I was thinking about just doing a simple update since my small “vacation.” That update would have just included stuff concerning the Legacy Continuum and would have most likely been a short update.
But ever since my post “Welcome to the Christian Circus,” and the follow-up, “ How Much Mud is too Much Mud?” things have been moving. People asked questions, some gave information, and even a dream from a prophetic person came in that caused me to do some research.
This caused me to rethink this update, and when I did, I was reminded of a quote from an old Canadian Science Fiction show called Continuum. “A drop can become a tsunami on the other side of the Ocean.” This, of course, inspired the current art cover for this post.
Information was shared with me from trusted sources, and at that point, I now realize that my former employer's downward descent had sped up. God has essentially pulled the drain plug.
Here is a General Overview of what took place.
Please note, not all information has been confirmed. So some details are being withheld until more is known.
Information has been shared from various sources that were given by Rick in meetings, staff, board, and similar places. This information was not public yet when I heard it, so I posted it on this Substack before Rick released it. A few hours later, I got the notification from a source that Rick himself confirmed one rumor on the Morningstar app.
This was followed by a dream from a prophetic source that seems to imply that Rick and other rebellious leaders' lives will soon end. Seeking some sort of confirmation, I asked around and quickly got it from other people. Then, not long after that, Rick did one of his famous “Rants.” This rant that was shared with me from two sources (thank you, you know who you are) displayed his desperate nature. Other parts of what I posted are even now being confirmed. The lay-offs are kind of happening. What I am being told is that contract people are now on hold. Hours are being cut back for regular employees immediately through the end of August. This is an effort to refinance and show as much money in the bank as possible. Why would they need to show this? The only reasons I can think of at this moment would be for insurance reasons, bank loans, or selling the ministry.
Also, there is an open court session scheduled next Friday, June 13th. In York County, to get the last two lawsuits dropped. I would say, pray that all deception is cancelled and that Morningstar's arguments get exposed.
MFM Conference.
Although I have not attended any Morningstar conference since I left in 2018, nor have I watched any online. I was curious, so I watched the opening of this year’s MFM conference. It was shocking, I had never seen so few people. In my years on staff, it was normal to see the floor in front of the worship stage crowded and the seats full. However, as the screenshot I have included shows, it was the exact opposite.
I asked for confirmation of a statement I was given that people who attended the MFM conference could visibly see the tension between Rick and Tom Hardiman. What I was told is that during the ordination, Tom requested from the stage twice for Rick to walk up and join them. Rick refused and remained seated and silent, putting Tom in an awkward position in front of everyone. Tell me, does this not sound childish, like high school to you?
Unfortunately, I was not able to get another message that I was given, confirmed. But from one person I talked with who knows all the players very, very well. What I was told would not surprise them if the rumor of a senior-level leader (name withheld at this moment), who has often been ignored by the others, is now making a play to the board for Rick’s job.
Can this other leader do the job? Well, that's questionable. I say that because of my limited interactions with him. On one hand, I would say he has more integrity than Rick ever did, and I would say I have truly seen him alarmed at some of the things that have happened in the building. However, I agree with others that he is still not healed from his previous church breakup from many years ago.
If Morningstar is to survive in ANY form, it should be retooled as a team of elders and not a single leader… All Elder meetings, board notes, and budget records SHOULD be posted in the main lobby and not hidden. This provides true transparency in the congregation and helps to rebuild trust.
Death?
Now this is assuming the prophetic wording about death can be taken at face value and it is not symbolic of some other type of death, like just the death of the ministry and not the person… time will tell.
Here is the downflow reality: if this information is speaking of the physical death of major leaders. Many mega churches are going to close as they are personality-driven. Those who leave will most likely wander off to one of three major possibilities.
A. Another ministry, and we as a body will possibly see an increase in house churches because of this.
B. Various cults, which pretend to be Christian, will be seeking to pick them up.
C. Spiritual desert, forcing them to drop all connections with other believers for a season of healing. More on this in a moment.
Also, God will be reorganizing his people. Leaders who have been sitting on the sidelines for one reason or another will be “called up for duty.” Also, as some leader are called to new locations, they will move and others to take their places. This is a reorganization of the Army of the Lord. In the case of my former employer, there were many who believed they were going to be serving in a major way in some capacity. Only to discover after getting bruised and broken that nothing happened. I suspect that those who kept pursuing the Lord in their heart are still getting trained, and they are about to find themselves on the front lines.
I have already spent time talking with one young man who got burned in ministry five years ago. He suddenly feels excited (he knew nothing about current events), and he does not know why he is suddenly dreaming of ministry again. The Holy Spirit is stirring the water of the soul, and broken leaders are starting to feel hope again. Case in point, a few people keep asking us where the Lord is going to send us. Apparently, some of these people are picking up more from the Holy Spirit than we are; it’s kind of funny. But it’s happened so much we know it’s unavoidable.
Desert
The desert is not a bad place, as some people think. It is a place of decision, of waiting and listening. This is because God is taking away all other distractions, so you can only hear Him. And for some of us, we have fallen in love with the stillness and solitude of the desert and really don’t want to leave. This is when the Lord may extract some people out of the desert as a test of your First Love.
On to the Fun Stuff.
I was surprised by the survey on the voices for the Legacy Continuum. In the end, the vote boiled down to either Linda or Donny. And in my mind, I was going to go with Donny. However, two people gave a fairly convincing argument for Linda that made sense. One of my main characters in the book is Megan Becker; to these people, it really felt like, while listening to Linda's voice, they were listening to Megan tell the story. That is not a connection that should be ignored, and the more I thought it over, the more sense it made.
So I have been aggressively rebuilding it all around her voice. And I have more of that completed for the first set. After that is the layering of background sounds and other items to make things more complete.
My current issue is music. I have been trying to find something as an intro other than AI-created music. Frankly, it sounds like AI, and I don’t like it. Because of this, I have a request to the worship band “Laity” to use their music. This would give it a more modern feel and change the tone at the very start of the podcast.
Unfortunately, I have not heard anything back. So if any of my subscribers have and connection to them. Could you please ask them to check their email? Or, if you know of anyone else I should be talking with on this issue, I am willing to listen.
Lord willing, it will not be long before the first episode airs. When it does, you will be able to find it here on Substack. But it should also be available on several major podcasting platforms as well.
But seriously, if you have a solution to my intro music problems, talk to me.
